Peer support programmes are gaining increasing attention within aviation and related safety critical industries. Initially mandated for pilots by EASA and the UK CAA, peer support programmes are recommended as best practice by ICAO, the FAA and several other NAAs across the globe (e.g. Australia, New Zealand, India and Thailand). More recently the application of peer support programmes has been expanding to include other safety critical professions within the sector (e.g. ATC, Cabin Crew, and of course, below wing operational staff).

In addition to demonstrating compassion and support to employees in their hour of need, the safety and business cases in lowering the barriers to seeking this help is both compelling and surprisingly, cost effective.

If your operation involves any of these professions and you are interested in learning more about how peer support can be implemented within your organisation, you can contact us here.
